Tayprint installs two Scitex industrial presses

Tayprint has added two HP Scitex Industrial Presses within the past month, as it targets new market sectors

Production manager at the former screen printer Kevin Geoghegan says the “time had come to invest”, and that the machines would push the firm into new areas such as indoor point-of-sale and packaging.

The Dundee firm added the FB7600 and XP2500 models to its kit room, and also highlighted turnaround times as a key attraction.

“We already offered outdoor applications, but to move into other sectors we wanted products that were economic, in time and in money,” adds Geoghegan.

He continues: “Since installing the two solutions, we have saved a lot of time and have been able to increase productivity, taking on jobs we previously weren’t able to.”

The addition of a packaging offering has came through the 7600 and its ability to print on a variety of substrates up to 25mm thick.

The XP2500 model offers the increased speed for applications such as banner printing, topping out at 265sq m/hr.
