Digital advertising set for top of London cabs

The first ever digital advertising on top of London's black cabs will appear within three months, after Transport for London granted approval for the scheme

Brightmove Media are the holders of the licence that will allow it to launch its TaxiCast technology on an intital fleet of 25 taxis.

The technology changes the message displayed depending on the time of day and the vehicle's location.

The firm's chief executive, Piers Mummery says the move is an important step for the progress of digital outdoor advertising.

He continues: “Our fleet is signed up and ready to go, we have committed advertisers and the equipment is being fitted to the fleet right now”

It has the potential to offer a highly targeted advertising platform to businesses and agencies, enabling them to target particular demographics in the capital.

Brightmove claims it will deliver over 2 million adverts in the capital across its first three months.
