As the COVID-19 pandemic developed, many governments took the decision to close all non-essential businesses. This included all bars, restaurants and other places for recreation.

Many fast food chains such as KFC and Burger King have remained open for takeaways only, however, all chains have closed their dine-in facilities.

Many out-of-home companies have been updating digital signs around the world to share important messaging and information.

The new signage is a simple yet effective way to get an important message across whilst maintaining the restaurant’s branding

Burger King Belgium has gone one step further and installed a new part of its built-up lettering. Rather than reading “Home of the whopper”, the chain’s signage now says “Stay Home” with the words “of the whopper” crossed out by a red line.

The new signage is a simple yet effective way to get an important message across whilst maintaining the restaurant’s branding.

Additionally, it also helps Burger King Belgium to spread the word that it is not open for in-house dining as the restaurant is closed until April 3rd.

The signage upgrade has received a positive response on Twitter with one user describing it as “brilliant”, and another calling the stunt “very clever”.
