Primark has transformed its London Oxford Street Store West into a Stranger Things world

First launched in 2016, the retro sci-fi themed series features a young boy plagued with visions of ‘The Upside Down’ – a murky parallel version of the local town of Hawkins filled with one particularly scary monster.

To celebrate its collaboration with Netflix in the form of a new range of clothing, the Oxford Street West store was turned into a life-like Upside Down using a range of different signage and graphics.

The entire area of the store was given a black paint job, with red graphics installed featuring black silhouettes of trees and the famous monster – the Demogorgon.

On the floors, graphics of black cracks and vine-like patterns weave their way around the store, with another area featuring the words ‘We’re not in Hawkins anymore’.

Thin orange panelling runs across the ceilings of the shop floor, representing the long spindly legs of the monster.

Passers-by are unable to miss the makeover as the outside of the store has also been given a transformation. The windows feature the same red and black graphics featuring the silhouette of children cycling, and the front wall features a two-story outline of the Demogorgon.

The iconic pale blue Primark branding on its signage has also been switched for a red alternative.

Primark revealed the store’s makeover on its Instagram page with the caption: “We’re not in Hawkins anymore… Our Oxford Street West store has been turned Upside Down with this Stranger Things makeover. Check it out before it disappears without a trace.”
