Designs’ in-house team has specially wrapped one of its vehicles to create a bespoke Santa’s Grotto on wheels for children to enjoy

The campaign, titled ‘It’s a Wrap!’, is encouraging the community to donate gifts at one of its three drop-off points across the city.

Accepting donations until Friday, December 14th, the three charities benefitting from the appeal are Barnardo’s, Hull Women’s Aid and Preston Road Women’s Centre, with Hull City football club doing its part to spread Christmas cheer.

Dean Windass, who scored the winning goal against Bristol City in the 2008 play-offs to secure Hull’s promotion to the Premier League, dropped off the presents to be distributed to the three chosen charities to help families in need, from Design’s very own Santa’s grotto on wheels.

As experts in wrapping everything from walls and buildings to fleets of vehicles, Designs employs more than 35 people at its premises in Hull. As well as offering vehicle livery services, Designs has carried out projects in industries including retail, education, commercial and property development.

We’re overwhelmed by the contributions we’ve received so far, but we still need a few more gifts to fill up our grotto.

The Tigers are not the first major club that Designs has interacted with, with major clients in the sports sector including Premier League and European football clubs, rugby league and union sides and indoor competitions like the world darts and snooker championships.

Managing director, Rob Daysley says: “We’re overwhelmed by the contributions we’ve received so far, but we still need a few more gifts to fill up our grotto.

“With our headquarters based in the city, ‘It’s a Wrap!’ means a lot to the team, so we’d be grateful for any donations, whether it’s giving an extra present or a good quality used toy.”

Designated drop-offs for gifts include inside Rock-Up at St Stephen’s, outside Hamleys in Princes Quay, and at Flemingate Shopping Centre in Beverly, inside Inflata Nation.
