Each vehicle in the tour will demonstrate the vehicle wrapping skills of 3M employees

The 665-mile trip has been organised by 3M to highlight the talent and skills of modern vehicle wrapping, starting at the firm’s head office in Bracknell, Berkshire. There will be 14 members of the science-based tech company’s Authorised Vehicle Wrappers (AVW) taking part in the five-day road trip.

Each person taking part has wrapped a vehicle for the occasion, including a Ferrari 458 Italia wrapped in a mix of gloss, matte and metallic films, to a 1968 MG Roadster Speckled Hen kitted out with a ‘modern twist’.

Stops will include Baltic Square in Gateshead, Tyne and Wear, where the fleet will form a public exhibition, and Santa Pod Raceway in Northampton, where the fleet will go on show during the National Drag Racing Championship Finals. The tour ends at TRAX Silverstone, one of the UK’s biggest performance car show, where the vehicles will join Fast Car magazine’s stand.

Pen Webley, marketing manager for 3M’s commercial solutions division, comments: “The countdown to the first ever 3M Wrap Tour has begun – and we couldn’t be more excited.

“Our meticulously selected AVWs are among the best vehicle wrappers in the UK, so we can’t wait to show the public what they are capable of when using 3M’s latest products.

He concludes: “We’ve had a glimpse of some of the vehicles that will be taking part. It’s safe to say they’ll be turning more than a few heads as they travel the country over the five days.”
