ADI enhances European Championships

When hosting a major sporting event, LED and digital signage is an important aspect of the spectacle because of the fans. Spectators are there to be entertained by the athletes and the events, and signage adds to the connectivity with the audience.

ADI has provided digital signage for several sporting events, including the 2015 World Gymnastics Championships

ADI has been appointed as the screen supplier for the Glasgow 2018 European Championships, after a successful partnership at the 2014 Commonwealth Games, which were also held in the Scottish City.

Glasgow will host the inaugural European Championships alongside Berlin, where the athletics events will take place. Glasgow and Scotland will hold the aquatics, cycling, gymnastics, rowing, and triathlon events. There is also a Golf Team Championship, which will take place in Scotland.

“Having been involved in delivering some of the largest events ever held in the city—most notably the 2014 Commonwealth Games—we look forward to this incredible sporting occasion and supplying an exciting and unique range of screen services to help make it more memorable,” says Nick Robinson, ADI’s director of screen rental comments.

Robinson adds: “The requirement for a mixture of mobile and modular LED products is well-suited to our capabilities; we can provide the right solutions for the 14 different indoor and outdoor venues, including screens that will deliver real wow factor.”

The inaugural event will be held in August this year and aims to be a major event on the sporting calendar every four years. The screens that ADI will provide will be located at the SSE Hydro, which will be the main arena for gymnastics, and include a 230m² modular LED screen in 6mm resolution. Other screens will be located at other venues in Merchant City and George Square.
