Sharp creates world first

Window displays and display walls are often the first point a customer will stop and look at before moving onto items in the store. Making a seamless impression is important and seamless is what Sharp is trying to achieve, with its new addition to the PNV series.

The PNV-V701 is suitable for retailers, hotels, and transport hubs, the size reduces the interruptions from cables and frames

Sharp has not only created a first, but the Japanese manufacturer has introduced a world first, with the largest commercially available video wall display, the 70” PNV-V701, being introduced to Sharp’s PN-V range.

High-end retailers and transport centres will benefit from the new 70” wall display because of its ability to work 24/7, with the product added to Sharp’s existing PN-V range. It is already available to customers across the world.

The size of the screens removes the number of interruptions by the frames of each product. For a 3m wall, only three 70” displays are needed, rather than four 55” screens, creating a more striking picture.

The full-HD PNV-V701 uses Sharp’s latest LED backlight technology, UV2A technology (which Sharp developed and is unique) and Advanced UCCT (Uniform Colour Calibration Technology) to offer customers the highest-quality picture.

Fitting wall displays can be difficult, but the PNV-V701 is lightweight which makes the installation process easier. Mini OPS extension slots are fitted to the V701, which is the first of the new generation of wall displays to have this feature, allowing more applications for the user.

Options include the HD Base T module, a simple solution that replaces signal cabling between displays and HDMI devices. The lack of cables provides the opportunity for the 70” screens to be in shop windows, without cables damaging the look of the window display.
