Augmented reality has been discussed many times here at Signlink, including in our September edition, where executive editor Jo Golding explored the possibilities of the latest technology.

As companies explore new ways of reaching their customers, Jaguar Land Rover and DRP experimented with an augmented reality app named ‘I-Pace’, and have been awarded for their efforts.

The app was designed by DRP, which also designed the ‘Drive Experience Media Book’. This was specifically created with the campaign for the new Jaguar I-Pace in mind. The app presented its audience with a real-life driving experience of the new electric car.

The app and the book were both celebrated at the TATA Awards 2017. Jaguar and DRP won ‘Best Internal Communications’ for the augmented reality app, and ‘Best Publication’ for the media book.

We are absolutely thrilled to have been part of two fantastic projects that have achieved such great results

“We are absolutely thrilled to have been part of two fantastic projects that have achieved such great results,” comments Emma Collins, account director for Jaguar Land Rover at DRP.

She continues: “These awards are testament to the strong and trusted partnership with Jaguar Land Rover, and a mutual aspiration to continually drive positive engagement.”

The app was also used to give information and train employees. Each worker was given a ‘Top Trumps’ inspired card, and when presented to the app on an iPhone or Android phone, made the app come to life.
