Exhibiting at Signlink Live

As a new event focusing on the ‘nuts and bolts’ of the sign industry, Jo Golding asks: “Why did you decide to exhibit at Signlink Live and what are you going to showcase?”

What the trade needs

Signlink Live is a true exhibition for sign manufacturers. The only such exhibition available in the UK. It is something that the industry needs. The reasons that we particularly want to exhibit there are two-fold.
Firstly, we want to support the idea. A show that allows sign companies to see what is available to them from UK suppliers in one area and to be able to directly compare what is on offer under one roof. Although they will only remember a very few products and suppliers, it will plant an idea in their heads that all sorts of things are possible and that they will be able to find solutions to their challenges.

Secondly, it allows us to show what we can do. Even the many customers who have been with us for much of the (almost) twenty years that we have been in business, still do not know all that we can do and what we can offer them. As a true UK manufacturer, we can design and make the items that people need, not just adapt products that we have in stock or simply source the next best thing. We can help them to solve their problems and to make the most of their opportunities.

We will be showing some new items like interactive screens and the latest ideas in LED panels, but what excites me the most is showing what can be achieved with our unique set of components. It is like having the building blocks of a well-known toy at our disposal. There is no limit to the number and variety of products we can make. The overall impression we want to leave people with is, ‘if you have a problem, who you gonna call? Pinetree’.

A greener future

Alison Preston, marketing manager, Zeta Specialist Lighting

As a specialist LED and solar-powered lighting solutions provider, the fact that Signlink Live is dedicated to the ‘nuts and bolts’ of the sign-making industry was a really compelling proposition.

The inaugural edition of the show will give us the opportunity to meet up with existing customers as well as make new connections within the sign-making industry, all under one roof. We are very much looking forward to engaging with visitors on stand J09 and demonstrating how they can leverage the benefits of our innovative solutions.

We will show a range of our award-winning UK-manufactured LED and solar lighting solutions that deliver optimum illumination across a variety of signage applications, including wayfinding, advertising poster cases and billboards, totems, and monoliths.

We are also running Green Horizons, a special area of Signlink Live dedicated to signage solutions with low environmental impact. Within the sign-making sector, solar-powered LED solutions, Zeta’s mainstay, have been a game-changer, they offer flexibility, along with substantial energy and cost savings.

Complementing our on-stand offer, within Green Horizons we will largely focus on the huge benefits that LED and solar technologies combined bring to the table. Solar-powered systems consume zero energy so there are no running costs, they are maintenance-free, deliver high quality lighting performance, and provide sign-makers with the ability to illuminate signs in any location, especially where trenching to link into a mains connection is both cost- and time-prohibitive.

Today, more and more sign-makers are looking for solar-powered systems for both new installations as well as to retro-fit legacy signage. We will showcase through a number of real-life customer case studies how products such as the Zeta Bespoke Solar Signage Kit, Solar Poster Case Kit, and complementary wayfinding solutions such as the Smart Scape Solar Bollard and Solar Brick, are enabling sign-makers to deliver sustainable and creative lighting solution to their clients.

Understand the sector

Nigel Stevenson, managing director, NCS Trade Signs

The very prospect of a new event focusing on manufacture and fabrication within the sign industry sounded exciting when we first heard about Signlink Live back in December. The organisers have uncovered a sector within the industry which rarely has the opportunity to showcase to a wider audience.

For us, it is important that the organisers understand the nature of our business, it is all too easy to think of trade manufacturers as sign companies, and although some do operate in a similar way, there are some fundamental differences which set us apart. Signlink has a clear understanding of the trade sector and the missing link which has prevented many trade fabricators from exhibiting at other events in the past. We anticipate a real energy from both exhibitors and visitors during the three days of the exhibition.

During the event, we hope to discuss industry challenges with a broad spectrum of new and existing clients. We bring knowledge and expertise, having served the industry for more than 28 years, and will be keen to offer fresh ideas and solutions to signage, bespoke one-off projects, and ongoing roll-out schemes.

We have strong links with industry partners and will have a great level of support from Spandex and Vink Lighting Solutions at the show.

As an approved Sign Systems Centre, we will be showcasing standard Spandex sign systems and demonstrating how you can achieve a modern and unique look. Vink will be providing lighting for our stand and illumination for the products on display. Representatives from Vink and Spandex will be on hand during the event to discuss their products in detail.

The timing of the event could not be better. We have an exciting new premium product and Signlink Live offers an excellent platform for us to launch it. More details coming soon.

Watch this space

Ian Drinkwater, managing director, Applelec

We see Signlink Live as a strong opportunity for the sign industry and immediately knew we wanted to support the venture. We felt that if everyone backs the show, it can be beneficial for manufacturers and suppliers to launch products and for the industry to come together and see what is new. But for that to work, we have to bring genuinely interesting new products to the show and help build an expectation that it will be worth travelling to the event, particularly at a time of year when many in the sign industry are in the midst of their busiest periods of work.

We have been a Sloan LED distributor since January and the range will feature prominently on our stand, from the Poster Box 3 and Prism modules, including this year’s Prism Mini and Prism High Output launches, to another brand new product launch from the industrious Sloan LED.

We have been strengthening our field sales team and now have four senior members of staff on the road

We are finding customers are looking for more in-depth support when considering Sloan LED systems, particularly for larger projects and roll outs, so we have been strengthening our field sales team and now have four senior members of staff on the road.

This team will be at Signlink Live to answer product questions and, if anyone visiting the show would like to meet up for confidential project discussions, we have booked one of the conference rooms where we will be holding a mix of meetings, presentations, and small product training sessions.

Finally, we can confirm that we will be launching a brand new LED letter product at the show. We are keeping things under wraps until a little closer to the show, but will be set to announce details of the range in next month’s Signlink magazine. So, watch this space.
