Embrace Building Wraps used PVC-free materials to decorate The Sandhurst Block on former army barracks in Bordon, UK

The idea was to celebrate generations of the future, nature and community and after an open call, a design featuring a vertical garden in the centre of the block between two building wraps.

Embrace planned, printed, and fitted ten 18sq m and two 12sq m PVC-free building wraps on either side of a green living wall, attached using Keder rail systems.

The installation also featured two of the UK’s largest digitally printed PVC-free building wraps on the left and right building wings, with both measuring 400sq m.

They were really happy with the idea and it helped us secure the project. It’s something that’s becoming increasingly important to our clients.

Greg Forster, managing director of Embrace explains that the company’s goal is to reduce reliance on PVC and move to more sustainable printable media solutions. KAVALAN products enables the company to do this as it is durable and passed a UKAS certified fire test in its natural state and with Embrace’s chosen inks applied.

Forster says: “We were the only organisation to go in there and say ‘we can offer you a PVC-free product’ which paid dividends because they were really happy with the idea and it helped us secure the project. It’s something that’s becoming increasingly important to our clients.”

KAVALAN’s Eco Calculator also enabled Embrace to enter their KAVALAN product of choice, the preferred unit of measurement and the quantity, and it will automatically generate the eco-savings result.
