Shaun Holdom of Drytac, has highlighted countertop graphics as an emerging product in our fast-paced world

In a blog written by Shaun Holdom, the global product manager has noted the increased popularity of countertop advertising of the last few years, and how many companies in the sign and wide-format industry could be investing in the useful advertising tool.

Holdom acknowledges the change in the world to a more fast-paced lifestyle, meaning that retailers and brands have had to think outside the box in order to grab the attention of existing or potential customers.

The blog lists locations such as bars, gyms, and restaurants as common places to find countertops, due to the welcoming and interactive nature of the premises that sport them. Holdom describes the graphics as extremely valuable marketing assets, especially when creating new sales, promoting products, or building on brand awareness.

The service, hospitality, and entertainment sectors have all embraced new ways for consumers to interact with their products and services, greeting them with digital signage, QR codes, or instructional graphics.

Writing about their importance, Holdom comments: “Much like the walls that surround them and the floor underneath, countertops are a blank canvas and offer all sort of opportunities when it comes to placing graphics.”

The blog lists education material, as well as shopping centre maps, and scannable menus as great examples of how countertop graphics can be used.

Holdom calls the possibilities of these graphics as “endless” and adds: “By working with your customers, you can come up with all sorts of unique and thought-provoking ideas that could add a whole new dimension to marketing and branding strategies.”

Drytac is an example of a company offering many graphic solutions to clients, with non-slidable countertops, food resistant laminates, and anti-bacterial options made specifically for the medical sector.

The blog pinpoints a market other companies in the wide-format and sign industry may not have recognised, encouraging them to add to their range of services, as Drytac has.
