HP technology captures the Thames
In the bustling capital of London, finding a quiet moment to enjoy the views around us can seem like an almost impossible feat. However, a recent project used HP technology to capture the views of the River Thames landscape for all to see.

The installation, titled ‘One Hour’ saw local photographer and artist Henry Reichhold capture two images of the river at different times of the day, giving viewers the opportunity to see all the activity that happened over one hour on the river, in one place.
The first image, which features London Bridge and the Tower of London, was taken at approximately 10am on a quiet Sunday morning and the second featuring The Shard was taken on a weekday, one hour later.
The two large panoramic images were then created using around 100 high resolution images stitched together for each display.
In charge of printing the large images, PressOn used a HP Latex L3600 printer on Papergraphics’ SoftStuff display fabric, giving the exhibition an environmental dimension.

Phil Oakley, HP regional business manager for UK and Ireland, explains: “Our water-based HP Latex Inks, certified for low chemical emissions to reduce environmental impact, also enable our customers to operate sustainably without comprising on quality.”
Reichhold comments: “As the first large-scale photography exhibition to be held in the newly refurbished London Bridge Station, I needed technology that delivered in terms of quality and durability, as well as environmentally.
“The HP Latex Printer L3600 presented a solution. As an artist, I’m always looking for new and innovative ways of doing things without compromising on standards. Working alongside HP meant I had the tools required to do just this and bring this art installation to life.”
The display was on display at London Bridge Station throughout September as part of the Totally Thames Festival.
