HP reseller Papergraphics has delivered the first HP R2000 in the UK following the hybrid’s initial unveiling at FESPA in 2018.

Tayprint takes on the first HP R2000 in the UK
Tayprint in Dundee started off in traditional screen printing but has since developed to offer a range of large-format printing services for outdoor advertising, indoor exhibitions and the display market.
The firm has decided to make the investment into HP’s first hybrid printer to use its patented latex ink technology.
“The aim behind the investment was to increase the efficiency and remove onerous repair bills that we were experiencing on our incumbent UVC and solvent machines,” explains James Miller of Tayprint. “The step up in quality and the all-in maintenance package ensures an increase in business and a stable fixed cost.”
The R2000 is the first 2.5m latex printer capable of printing across a range of different substrates, including flexible media and rigid substrates up to 50mm thick.

Miller continues: “The challenges have been the transition to a new ink system and learning the idiosyncrasies of latex ink across all the family of new machines, but assists in our drive to reduce waste, apply better time and resource management and build a greener profile.
“Eliminating the cost and aggravation in disposing of inks and ink polluted plastic bottles, replacing it with HP's recycle program is a big step in the right direction.”
Papergraphics has delivered a total of three R2000 machines in the UK, including one at PressOn and one at JKN Digital.
