QPS set for market-first at SDUK

Quality Print Services (QPS) has revealed that it will use this year’s edition of Sign and Digital UK to stage the first public showing of the new VersaEXPRESS RF-640 with ID-64 print solution from Roland DG.

The event takes place from April 24th to 26th at the NEC in Birmingham and, as ever, is expected to attract interest from all across the market. QPS will feature on stand K2 at the show, where it will be demonstrating the new machine.

QPS, a key reseller for Roland DG, says the newly formulated ink for the ID-64 on the VersaEXPRESS RF-640 brings a host of benefits to graphics producers. These include instantly dry and usable prints with low ink running costs, which in turn means a faster turnaround time and lower production costs.

Chris Bailey, managing director of QPS, explains: “Since the introduction of latex machines, some users have found that output is not ‘instantly dry' as suggested, and still needs degassing prior to finishing.

Combined with the lower price of the inks, this new printing solution delivers like-for-like output approximately 65 percent cheaper when compared to latex technology

“However, the new UVL inks used by the RF-640 with ID-64 operate at significantly lower temperatures and as a result there is no media instability following printing. Output is suitable for finishing as soon as it comes off the roll.”

Bailey adds: “The RF-640 with ID-64 solution uses a non-consumable piezo printhead so doesn't have the added cost of replacing the short-life thermal printhead. Combined with the lower price of the inks, this new printing solution delivers like-for-like output approximately 65 percent cheaper when compared to latex technology.”
