YPS in UK-first with Mimaki sale at The Print Show

This year, The Print Show has once again proved to be a major selling event, after Your Print Specialists (YPS) became the first company in the UK to finalise a sale of the new Mimaki UCJV150-160.

As its name may suggest, YPS can offer solutions across a host of sectors within the print market. At The Print Show this week, YPS opted to focus on the wide-format print side of its business, showing off two Mimaki printers on its stand in hall two.

The most significant piece of kit on display is the new Mimaki UCJV150-160, which has only recently been made available to the market. And on day two of the show, YPS set a UK-first by selling a machine to long-term customer Printmaster.

Speaking to Print Monthly earlier today, Garry Brown, managing director at YPS, comments: “We’ve known George Dowd at Printmaster for some time now and have had a lot of dealings with him. But what we didn’t know was that he was coming to The Print Show this year.

“I went over to speak with him and he said he was looking for a new laminator for some work, and I suggested he take a look at the new Mimaki. It only took 10 minutes from mentioning the machine for him to decide to buy one then and there at the show.”

I’m not just saying this, but I really believe the UCJV150-160 is going to be a game changer for the industry. We are going to see printers do great things with this piece of kit.

Brown adds: “I’m not just saying this, but I really believe the UCJV150-160 is going to be a game changer for the industry. We are going to see printers do great things with this piece of kit.’”

With a UK-first under its belt, some may think YPS that would be going home happy, but as Brown explained, he and his team were keen to push on and have completed a number of other key sales of kit during the event this week, with Mimaki again the focus.

However, Brown says that while sales are always nice, and ultimately the goal for any business such as his, striking up new relationships and friendships with other companies and people at The Print Show, has been just as important.

Brown adds: “We came to The Print Show last year and had a good time, as it’s also been a good event for us this year in terms of sales, new friends and experience.”
