AGFA Graphics and Josero will now work together to fulfil a significant gap in the market and solve several key issues facing those wanting to sell or source second hand print equipment.

“I have worked with Josero over the past couple of years as they have had requests from their customers for used :Anapurnas, and we have helped with sourcing them. During this time, the relationship has developed as Josero has proved themselves to be a professional and trust-worthy business in this respect and have a very extensive customer base, many of which, AGFA do not have a direct relationship," explains Steve Collins, AGFA UK and Ireland product and marketing manager.

Loic Delor, who runs Josero, has an impressive level of technical expertise and in-depth knowledge of the market—especially with legacy machines

He continues: “Loic Delor, who runs Josero, has an impressive level of technical expertise and in-depth knowledge of the market—especially with legacy machines. After a couple of years, we formalised our relationship and after some very successful projects we have moved to recognise Josero as an approved AGFA used-equipment partner in the UK.

“Inevent Branding is a good example of this, as they purchased an :Anapurna M2500i from us. As the machine was only a couple of years old, we could supply it with a full-warranty, installation and training and an ink starter pack. This package allowed Josero to identify Inevent Branding as the perfect candidate for this type of machine and within a specific budget."

Collins concludes: “The real benefit to AGFA is that we can secure the sale of one of our second hand user machines today so the customer can grow and purchase new equipment to scale up their production and increase their competitiveness in the future. The combination of buying a high-quality used press with a warranty from AGFA along with the fantastic technical back-up through Josero, allows for a strong and credible combination within a second-hand marketplace that can be fraught with danger.

"For AGFA, the relationship also provides us with a strong message that allows us to offer a complete solution for new equipment by taking away the hassle of replacing an older piece of machinery to make way for newer technology.”

Loic Delor, managing director, Josero also explained the new formal relationship from his experience and the benefits it will bring to companies with a requirement for second-hand equipment: “The partnership has developed very well and AGFA are a really nice company to deal with. The strengths of our company, its experience, customer-base, and market knowledge mean we can offer an effective and transparent service. It allows on the one hand a company to source high-quality equipment at a reasonable price, and on the other allow another company that has outgrown its current equipment a chance for hassle-free part-exchange for their used equipment.

“We understand what is necessary to really look after and understand the needs of a client. This includes doing a detailed site-survey, helping them understand the complete ROI on their investment, and helping them with all the small but fundamental aspects of purchasing and installing this level of print equipment.”

Delor continues: “The other key aspect of this partnership is AGFA’s technology itself, which is class leading and very reliable and robust. They manufacture their own inks, and thus have one of the best levels of control and precision with the printheads and its drop placement in order to ensure that the most economical amount of ink is used to achieve very high levels of quality.

When you want to purchase a second-hand machine you need to do all the research on what the machine has been producing, how it has been maintained throughout its life, and all the necessary details

“When you want to purchase a second-hand machine you need to do all the research on what the machine has been producing, how it has been maintained throughout its life, and all the necessary details. We take that hassle away and with this agreement our customers can rest assured knowing they have a vetted machine that is also backed by a manufacturer’s warranty and Josero is also there to back it up with its own technical expertise.”

Linzi King, managing director, Inevent Branding has had first-hand experience of the partnership and comments: “The Anapurna M2500i is the first flatbed print technology we have invested in. Inevent Branding specialise in the mass participation sports industry, the festival and concert industry, as well as in bespoke events and exhibitions.

“Traditionally we have outsourced the flat bed print work but we have a lot of events that are needing consistently faster turnarounds and improved quality. Sometimes signage and promotional items need producing in less than 24 hours. We didn’t think there was anyone that was the right fit to outsource this work to at the quality and pricing we needed to satisfy the blue-chip clients and events that we work for.

“The decision was made to invest in new machinery and we decided to source it through Josero as it was felt they were the right company
