The company has introduced the new HP Latex 3600 and 3200 printers, as well as the HP PageWide XL Advanced Suite, flexible signage printing for the HP Scitex 17000 Press, and HP PrintOS for Latex and Scitex HDR presses.

Gido van Praag, vice-president and general manager, graphics solutions business EMEA at HP, comments: “HP large-format technologies can continually reinvent impact, enabling print service providers (PSPs) to differentiate as well as amaze and delight customers.”

HP says its new Latex 3200 is suitable for large PSPs that produce a wide range of work such as retail and outdoor advertising, vehicle graphics, and interior décor, while the Latex 3600 is designed for larger PSPs that require long-run, uninterrupted printing. Both measure in at 3.2m, but the 3600 model offers output of up to 35,000sq m per month.

Elsewhere, the HP PageWide XL Advanced Suite is a bundle of software and tools for HP PageWide XL8000, 5000 and 4000/4500 printers. Tools include HP SmartTracker for more control over printing costs, as well as HP SmartStream 5.0 with the latest Adobe PDF Print Engine 4.

In addition, users of the HP Scitex 17000 Corrugated Press can now gain support from the Flexible Media Loader, which allows for the production of paper-based signage production for indoor and outdoor applications using flexible substrates.

HP also revealed details of HP PrintOS, a suite of web and mobile applications it says enables print shops and corrugated converters to simplify and automate production of short-run packaging, signage, display and decoration applications.

Meanwhile, outdoor media and large-format retail graphics specialist Odessa Print Group purchased a HP Scitex 17000 corrugated press with flexible media loading kit at FESPA 2017 as part of an effort to speed up production.

HP bills the system as an “automated media handling option” that enables users to expand their production capabilities by taking on outdoor and indoor signage, as well as display applications, with the added ability to produce the work at fast speeds and in high quality.

When considering the HP Scitex 17000 Flex Press, the speed of the press combined with the ability to automate was very attractive to us

Laurence Matthews, managing director of the Odessa Print Group, says the HP Scitex 17000 is set to have a major impact on production at the UK-based firm, adding that the company has had a relationship with the manufacturer for some time now and is well aware of the benefits of working with HP technology.

“Simply put, the quicker the machine, the more business we can do. When considering the HP Scitex 17000 Flex Press, the speed of the press combined with the ability to automate was very attractive to us,” Matthews explains.

“HP has been a good partner over the years as our business continues to move in the digital direction. Our industry is constantly evolving, and with the help of HP we have been able to stay ahead of market demands.”
