Roland DG’s Virtual Reality Experience will be available at Roland DG’s HQ in Clevedon, Newtech Wetherby (October 6th to 7th), and Newtech London (Novermber 24th to 25th)

Perhaps chief among these has been the use of cutting edge virtual reality technology from Oculus, as Joe Wigzell, Roland DG UK’s Creative Centre and Academy Manager explains: “One of the things we pride ourselves on at Roland DG is being at the forefront of new technology; particularly if it’s engaging for our customer base and helps to bring Roland DG products to life.

“The Creative Centre Virtual Reality Experience allows interested parties to not only explore what’s available locally, but be inspired by Roland DG technology and creations from around the globe—without even taking a step.”

He continues: “When producing the Creative Centre Virtual Reality Experience our aim was to provide those that aren’t able to travel to our Creative Centres in the UK, Spain, or Belgium the opportunity to be inspired by the imaginative samples created by artists from around the world— which are on display and encourage those that are able to visit to do just that.

"We welcome any opportunity to demonstrate the strengths and versatility of Roland DG technology and the Virtual Reality Experience allows us to do this in a space that might be small physically, but it can be huge virtually.”

The use of such technology represents a solid investment for Roland DG, and has come at a pivotal time for the firm’s UK operations as it shuffles its team and brings in new talent to spur growth.

Following the recent promotion of Brett Newman to managing director, Sarah Lyons will now be heading up Roland DG UK’s new marketing team.

The appointment of Lyons comes on the back of Roland DG UK’s previous head of marketing, Gillian Montanaro, moving to become head of EMEA marketing.

Jerry Davies, previous managing director of Roland DG (UK), has also been promoted and is now president of European sales—while still retaining his current position as chairman of the European sales team.

The final round in Roland DG’s new strategic weapon is the launch of the Better Business Experience Day that takes place on September 16th at Roland DG HQ in Clevedon from 10am to 7pm.

It has reportedly been designed to, ‘provide attendees with a complete picture of what can be done with wide-format print’.

In addition the company says it will, ‘inspire, teach and motivate veteran, new and potential Roland DG users’.
