The updated SignPlot software makes traffic signs easier and quicker to design

The update was designed to cater to the new regulations concerning traffic signage, as a spokesperson from software supplier Buchanan Computing explains: “The new enhancements focus on making bus lane and other signs quicker to design, helping answer the question: ‘Does this sign need lighting?’ and providing for future innovations in signing.

“Bus lane signs are now created simply by ticking the relevant options and entering enforcement hours in note form. This even works for offside bus lanes and bilingual signs in Wales and, as for all SignPlot dialogues, you see immediately the results of your selections and can recall the form later to make changes.”

Other enhancements include an easier way to add a junction name to a sign, and improved depiction of hollow arms on signs showing how to avoid a banned turn.
