Alex Couzins is the newly appointed head of brand and marketing at Absen

The supply side shows a strong, positive outlook for 2018 and beyond, with large improvements over last quarter’s mark due to the rise in business investment at the beginning of 2017.

Staff investment is one way that businesses and organisations are contributing to the rising strength of the Industry. A number of leading brands within the sign industry have made such investments.

Eagle Plastics appoints Liza Jones as the newest member of its sales team

Thermoplastics specialist, Eagle Plastics, has appointed Liza Jones to further expand the company’s sales potential of thermoplastics sheeting in to the north of the UK.

Liza was handpicked due to her relevant industry experience and tenacious personality.
Darren Clarke, UK managing director, says: “Finding someone that not only has the product knowledge and industry experience, but also matches the character of Eagle is a perfect combination for us.”

Due to celebrate its 25th anniversary in 2019, Eagle Plastics is aiming to find new, innovative ways to make plastics greener and more environmentally friendly.

Developer and manufacturer of Digital Signage, Internet Protocol Television (IPTV), and video streaming software solutions, Tripleplay, has also moved to enhance its sales team by appointing Lee Hunt to join its UK and Ireland sales team.

Previously of specialist audio visual integrator and video conferencing specialist Clear VC, Lee has worked closely with Tripleplay as a partner. He will now be helping support UK partners nationwide, with a particular focus on the north of England, Ireland and Scotland.

Commenting on his appointment, Hunt says: “I’m delighted to be joining Tripleplay, a company whose products I’ve been a huge advocate of for years. I understand how the business works and am looking forward to hitting the ground running.”

Recognising room for development, Absen, providers of LED display technologies, has appointed Alex Couzins to the newly created position of head of brand and marketing for Europe.

Couzins, who joined from systems integrator AVMI, will be part of Absen’s corporate marketing team where he will be responsible for European brand marketing and providing local marketing support for the group’s value-added partners.

The role will involve collaborating with peers across the business, including China and the US, to develop and implement the company’s marketing plans and brand strategy at a European level.

Couzins says: “The company has a fantastic reputation for high-quality, reliable products and has been the top Chinese export brand for LED displays for ten consecutive years; a testament to the company’s vision, performance, and endurance in such a competitive global marketplace. I look forward to being part of this international team and working with our valued customers and partners to drive business growth.”

Elsewhere, in a bid to strengthen their customer services department, international manufacturer of self-adhesive materials for the large-format print and signage markets, Drytac, has appointed Aimie Rosser to the position of customer service associate.

We’re sure Aimie will deliver the excellent customer service we’re known for internationally. At Drytac we are continually developing innovative new products across numerous sectors in the graphics market, giving Aimie plenty of scope to increase her knowledge and potential.”

An English literature graduate from Plymouth University, Rosser joins Drytac’s Bristol team with vast experience in customer service and a knowledge of the graphics industry.

Rosser says: “Having gained experience in the industry, I decided that a new start at Drytac would give me a new challenge, with an opportunity to work with both the UK and export market.”

Hayden Kelley, chief executive officer of Drytac comments: “We’re sure Aimie will deliver the excellent customer service we’re known for internationally. At Drytac we are continually developing innovative new products across numerous sectors in the graphics market, giving Aimie plenty of scope to increase her knowledge and potential.”

Lee Harris, Lee Barker, and Ross Floyd of Midwich

Following the planned retirement of long serving commercial director Lee Baker, Midwich announces the promotion of both Lee Harris and Ross Floyd to divisional director.

Lee Harris will become divisional director focusing on AV and Ross Floyd will assume a wider role as divisional director covering AV, document solutions, and further technology.

Floyd and Harris comment: “We are both excited by the opportunities our new roles present us. We look forward to continuing Lee Baker’s great work in building rapport with our vendor and reseller partners during his time at Midwich.”
