Antalis will welcome more ex-servicemen and women to its Digital Academy classes over the coming months

Launched in 2012, Mission Motorsport is dedicated to aiding the recovery of ex-servicemen and women affected by military operations by engagement through various motorsport activities. This also include providing a range of training courses and educational opportunities to suit the need of each individual.

Earlier this year, saw James Cameron, founder of Mission Motorsport, speak at the Digital Academy breakfast seminar about the charity and some of the people it works with. The speech seemingly had a big impact as since the event, three ex-servicemen who had been medically discharged from the Army have attended the Digital Academy’s vehicle wrapping workshop free-of-charge as part of their Mission Motorsport rehabilitation programme.

Chris Read, livery manager at Mission Motorsports, says: “We were delighted with how well received the Vehicle Wrapping workshop was by those that attended. The course was incredibly comprehensive and informative but also relaxed and engaging, inspiring our members and giving them a real taste of the full scope of opportunities available to them within the digital print industry.”

Given this overwhelming response, Antalis will now be offering the charity more workshop spaces for free over the coming months, while the company will also sponsor a racing car that will feature at the ‘Mission Motorsport 12-hour Race of Remembrance’ this month. The car will be wrapped in Oracal 970—supplied by Antalis— and feature a printed Antalis logo.

Giles Bristow, digital support manager at Antalis, adds: “We are incredibly proud to work with Mission Motorsport and help support ex-servicemen in their recovery and rehabilitation through our Academy. For many, particularly those who have been serving in the military for a number of years, we know the transition to a new career path can be a daunting one, and so we are pleased that we are able do something to make that transition a little easier.

“The digital printing industry presents genuine career opportunities; not only does it offer access to the motorsports arena, but its continuing evolution is opening doors to new diversification and growth markets.

“We look forward to working with more charity members over the coming months, helping them make a start in what we hope will be a fruitful career in our sector.”
