The 16-year-old finished fourth in last year’s Hel Performance Motorstar British Championship and is hotly tipped to turn professional in the future. To help fund his motorcycling dream, Delves has taken on an apprenticeship with the Solihull-based Signarama franchise.

Tracy and Jeremy Andrews, owners of Signarama Birmingham South, are keen to help Delves and have agreed to give him time off work on Thursdays and Fridays during the season so that eh can compete in races.

“I am really enjoying working here particularly the graphic design side of sign making,” Delves says, adding: “It’s very satisfying to be able to see a job right through from design to production and then handing the finished item to the customer.

“It’s not every boss who would give an employee 20 days off to take part in sport and I am very grateful to Signarama for being so flexible. I’ve been racing bikes since I was five and my burning ambition is to win the British Super Bike Championship.”

We are impressed by Liam’s drive and determination to become champion and want to support him as much as we can

Tracy Andrews adds: “My husband Jeremy is also a mad keen biker which is probably one of the main reasons we took Liam on.

“We advertised for a production assistant and Liam applied for the position. He already had a Saturday job working in a print shop so had some experience in design and production.

“We are impressed by Liam’s drive and determination to become champion and want to support him as much as we can.  As producing vehicle graphics is one of the services we provide it makes sense for us to do Liam’s new decals as he needs them.”
