Momentous change as Hollywood’s founder steps down

It has been a busy year for Hollywood Monster’s Tim Andrews. In January, he was announced as the new chief executive officer of Birmingham City Ladies Football Club, and in June he was named West Midlands Director of the Year at the IoD Director of the Year Awards, and significant expansion of the business, as well as continuing the host of charity work he does in the local community.

Tim Andrews is stepping down as managing director of Hollywood Monster in order to dedicate more time to other commitments, with Simon McKenzie (far left) taking over

Now, the business reveals, the time has come for someone else to take the reins at Hollywood Monster, as the business sets its sights on even further growth and Andrews looks to devote more time to his commitments outside of the firm, which he and his father John set up in their loft in 1991. Simon McKenzie will step into the big shoes Andrews leaves behind.

McKenzie comments: “The past three years have seen big growth for Hollywood Monster, with the business boasting £7m turnover and employing over 75 people. We have continued adding to our client base, with work across the UK and Europe, proving that we’re a major player in the signage market. Added to this, we’ve invested heavily in our technology, with over £1m new equipment, as well as developed our factory facility to allow us to cope with customer demand.”

It has been a fantastic ride but we’ve got some really ambitious growth plans over the next five years so I think it’s only right to hand it over to someone new to continue building on our successes

McKenzie takes the wheel at an exciting time for the business, as its recent announcements include a new office in London, a multimillion pound contract with McDonald’s, and a lucrative supply agreement with the NEC Group.
Andrews’ other projects are also on the up, and despite his decision to step down to pursue them, he says that the business will always be close to his heart, adding: “In the past 25 years we have moved to our 30,000sq ft headquarters and now boast a headcount over 70 people.

"It has been a fantastic ride but we’ve got some really ambitious growth plans over the next five years so I think it’s only right to hand it over to someone new to continue building on our successes. After 16 years with the business, I’m confident that Simon the right man for the job – and it’s great for me to know the business is in the hands of someone just as passionate and dedicated as I am.”
