The point of sale (POS) and point of purchase (POP) specialists have managed to raise £7,000 for charity by taking part in both the Climb of Skiddaw to support the Alzheimer’s Society, and the All Out Extreme Mud Run in aid of The Motor Neurone Disease Association.

“My father sadly passed away 7 years ago after a long battle with dementia at the age of 72,” says Mark Simpson, chairman of Simpson Group.

He adds: “For most of the previous 10 years he was unable to communicate with his family effectively, and struggled to recognise us.

The business he left has a positive impact on many families in our community. This is his legacy

“Bill Simpson was an intelligent and energetic man who founded Simpson Group, and laid the foundations for the company it is today. I personally have a lot to thank him for.

In September, Simpson Group will also take part in the Great North Run in memory of colleague Graham McGregor and in support of the Great North Air Ambulance.
