3M promises 'holy grail' revenue generator
As thousands of sign-makers search for new ways to generate revenue in what remains a fiercely competitive market, it seems that 3M has come up with a 'holy grail' product to help in the fight.

The new 3M Fasara Glass Finishes range features a number of pattern categories suitable for various types of applications
With very low costs in terms of materials and man-power, and yet with very good margins driven by its perceived high-value and luxury feel, it is transforming interior glass partitions and window expanses that 3M has hit upon as the next 'boom' sector.
The 3M Fasara Glass Finish films mimic the aesthetics of natural and synthetic materials and can be installed on a large range of glass finishes. The films are made from durable, flexible and removable polyester materials, and can be installed on-site.
Pattern categories in the range include ‘Fabric’ which addresses differing space requirements, from smaller fine weaves to larger, raw textures; ‘Natural’, for the celebration the ‘beautiful imperfections’ of nature and the artisan crafts; and ‘String’ for what 3M describes as a “relaxed, soothing and subtle” feel.
Later this year we will be launching 33 new designs, whilst expanding four of our most popular finishes to a width of 60 inches. This gives us a total range of over 100 glass finishes, each inspired by the differing requirements of our customers”
Also available is ‘Geometric’ for those seeking a classic or modern theme, as well as ‘Gradation’, which 3M says adds “subtlety and distinction” to a space.
Boris Hartig, portfolio and channel manager, window films and architectural markets at 3M, comments: “We work closely with the international design community to create new and exciting, on-trend patterns.

Hartig continues: “We have also added new colours to the existing white, black, mirror and silver. These colours include champagne gold, pearl white, a more brilliant silver and for the first time a transparent gray ‘smoke’.”
