Roland DG says the EJ-640 DECO is suitable for work such as wallpapers, lampshades, blinds and posters

Designed specifically for use in the interior décor market, the EJ-640 DECO runs water-based inks that Roland DG says will allow users to take on a wide range of projects in this sector.

Among the work the new device can produce are wallpapers, lampshades, blinds and posters, as well as exhibition graphics and outdoor promotions.

The Print Hive was among the first companies to install the machine and director Chaz Dobson says the business has already seen the benefits.

“We have seen significant growth in demand for décor in the retail, commercial and domestic markets," Dobson says, adding: “After testing the EJ-640 DECO for six months we have switched completely from another brand to the new Roland for all of our décor and wallpaper.

“We're convinced by the benefits of a water-based solution that meets all health and safety requirements without productivity or quality constraints.

“We're positively impressed by the EJ-640 DECO's fast turnaround speeds – prints are instantly dry, with no outgassing required – and the low running costs compared to alternative solutions.”
