Snapfix invests in ceramic blades

Snapfix has secured a partnership with US ceramic blade manufacturer Slice, which will see it bring ceramic blades and knives to the UK market.

The blades are manufactured from 100 percent zirconium oxide, which is second in hardness only to diamonds

The blades are manufactured from 100 percent zirconium oxide, which is second in hardness only to diamonds. This allows the blades to last up to ten times longer than standard metal blades.

The company says the blades are also safer than metal, no sharps box is needed for disposal, and they are also non-sparking, non-conductive, and non-magnetic.

When tested, metal blades will cut 141 times before the blade starts to go blunt, whereas the ceramic blade will cut 1,237 times.

We have invested heavily in stock and early feedback is very promising going forward

Mark Ashcroft, managing director of Snapfix, comments: “After seeing the test data supplied by Slice I was very keen on bringing the blades to our UK sign-maker clients, we have invested heavily in stock and early feedback is very promising going forward.”

Blades are indispensable tools for sign-making and print professionals and you can find a range of products on Snapfix’s website.
