New dye-sublimation ink makes splash

A new dye-sublimation ink, introduced at FESPA six months ago, is now rapidly expanding and is evidence of the small-format sublimation market’s increased growth.

FESPA gave the dye-sublimation ink, Sublisplash, the ultimate start after it was launched at the show in Hamburg, and the business is now expanding across Europe, and is continuing to grow across the globe.

After Sublisplash was launched at the trade show, a number of distributors have shown interest in the products. The dye-sublimation ink is manufactured by partners of Sublisplash, Print Equipment, which has its headquarters in Ottersweier, Germany.

In the UK, the latest series of inks is distributed by Dye Sublimation Supplies. Managing director, Steve Wooldridge, comments: “We vigorously tested the inks in-house against what was available on the market and the colours just blew us away.

“The black is by far the deepest black I have ever seen in sublimation. Since we took up with Sublisplash, our ink sales have trebled in as many months.”

The ink is currently available for a wide range of printers from both Epson and Ricoh, and Sublisplash will return to FESPA in May 2018 with Print Equipment. Those interested will also be able to see the inks in action at Printwear and Promotion Live at the NEC from 21st to 23rd January, as well as at demonstration days in Newcastle and Glasgow. UK distributor Dye Sublimation Supplies will exhibit the Sublisplash range at these events.
