‘Innovation engine’ EFI's mass FESPA kit debuts

FESPA Digital saw an extraordinary number of technology launches across its 42000sq m, but industry heavyweight EFI firm exceeded expectations with an impressive six new models filling its stand.

EFI brought a great deal of new technology to FESPA in order to cater to the whole market

The bustling EFI area played host to the world debut of the Vutek FabriVu 340, a 3.4m soft signage printer manufactured at Reggiani, as well as the Vutek HS125 roll-to-roll UV machine, the 3.2-meter wide EFI VUTEk LX3 Pro hybrid roll/flatbed LED printer, which both received their European debuts.

EFI also staked their claim in the thermoforming market with the entry-level 1625 SD, with EFI asserting that there are ‘really no competitors in the market’ to contend with this new model.

On why EFI decided to introduce all its latest technology to the market at FESPA, vice president of worldwide marketing, inkjet, Kenneth Hanulec, told us: “Our customers are always looking for new innovation and new applications to grow their business, and more efficient ways to take cost out of their business.

“At EFI we are an ‘innovation engine’, and when we have new products to bring to market, we want to do it as fast as possible to give our customers the benefit.”

Having taken over Matan Digital Printers and textile firm Reggiani for a staggering £130m in July 2015, EFI introduced the Matan Quantum LXr 3.5m LED printer, and the recently launched Reggiani ReNoir Next 1.8m textile printer was also being demonstrated on the stand.

Hanulec continues: “FESPA is a really important show for us, lots of new prospects and customers every year, never seems to disappoint, there is a tremendous audience and a lot of great opportunity for us, so we love being part of the FESPA community.”

The company was also busy outside of the European market as it took new offerings to the Shanghai International AD and Sign Expo, including the LX3 Pro, the H1625-SD, and the Matan Quantum LXr.

Stephen Green, EFI’s APAC vice president of sales, comments: “EFI customers in China are constantly redefining the ways our inkjet technologies can help develop new services and drive growth for printing companies.

“EFI is again demonstrating its strong commitment to this region, with increased technology and infrastructure investments, as well as new product launches. This is a vital market for us, and we are excited about the opportunity to showcase what we have to offer to the region’s growing base of innovative print entrepreneurs.”
