InkTec to roll out big gun in Birmingham

With sales figures for its technology up 15 percent over the last twelve months, the InkTec Jetrix RX3200 3.2m printer will launch at Sign and Digital UK

“The Jetrix RX3200 3.2m printer will move us into a different sector of the market: outdoor, high-volume, on-demand print,” says InkTec’s UK sales manager, Ben Woodruff.

“We think that we have a product that will raise the bar in terms of quality and also be very competitively priced as well.

"Sign and Digital UK is the ideal platform for us to launch this new model.”

The roll-to-roll machine uses UV-curable ink technology and is powered by an arsenal of 16 Konica 14pl printheads which achieve a top print quality level of 1440dpi.

Joey Kim, managing director of InkTec Europe, adds: “Whilst the printer is new, the technology inside is tried and tested. InkTec’s tailor-made UV ink gives excellent adhesion to a wide variety of substrates and the colours are extremely vibrant.

The RX3200 is capable of printing at speeds up to 169sq m/hr in production mode down to a very respectable 36sq m/hr in the best quality setting

The RX3200 will be available either as a 4 colour (CMYK) or 8 colour (CMYK Light Cyan Light Magenta Light Black and Light Yellow) ink configuration.

“The RX3200 is capable of printing at speeds up to 169sq m/hr in production mode down to a very respectable 36sq m/hr in the best quality setting.

“There are also some handy features on the printer, such as the option to loads multiple rolls on the feed to print at the same time, an easy winding system for heavy media and an automatic nozzle cleaning function.”

The new technology will see InkTec in the UK go into direct competition with the likes of AGFA, Mimaki, EFI, and Durst amongst others.

A key driver for the technology’s success will likely be the Konica Minolta printheads, its competitive price point, and the very well-regarded service backing of InkTec Europe in addition to its historic reputation for reliability.

Indeed, following its original founding in 1992, the South Korean company founded InkTec Europe in 2006.

Setting up its continental base in Witney, the expansion was designed to help give InkTec customers much closer technical and business support.

Its showroom even saw a visit from Prime Minister David Cameron in 2014 as the company was identified as a classic success story of international technology investment in the UK.
