Legalised cannabis has been covered a lot in the media in recent months and in the US, digital signage providers have capitalised on the growth of the industry.

U.S company says digital signage for cannabis dispensaries are important for educating consumers

According to Grand View Research, the legal marijuana market will be worth $66.3bn (£51.4bn) by 2025. It says this is attributable to the rise in demand for medicinal and recreational marijuana as well as increased legalisations in states across America.

Enlighten TV provides digital signage for cannabis dispensaries in the US to help businesses maximise their sales through engaging customers.

Jeremy Jacobs, co-founder and chairman of Enlighten says that digital signage can “reduce perceived wait in long lines, upsell higher margin items and educate consumers”.

He says that in the cannabis industry there is an issue around lack of education. With the plant having been illegal for 100 years, consumers are not always clued up about it.

We saw a larger need than normal since menus need updating more often and education was desperately needed

Jacobs says that the company has developed a virtual ‘budtender’ called ShowCase which is an interactive kiosk where customers can educate themselves on products and their effects, giving each and every customer an informative and interactive experience.

The company also provides completely custom-made video walls, called ‘Captivate’ which “displays curated content guaranteed to leave an impression”.

Jacobs says that providing digital signage for this industry is important because the company “noticed a lack of professional signage companies providing the services to this industry,” and adds: “We saw a larger need than normal since menus need updating more often and education was desperately needed.”
