Yo! rebrands with a new sign

Yo! has become ‘Yo!SushiRamenKatsuStirfryCurryBaoBurger
GyozaFriesYakisobaMochiBallsFriedChickenPopcornShrimpBeef
TeriyakiChocolateBrownie’ to highlight that the restaurants serve much more than just sushi.

Yo! says that, according to research, 55% of the public think that sushi is solely comprised of raw fish. To show that there is much more to Japanese food than sushi, Yo! has relaunched its brand to show the restaurants boast more than 80 varied dishes on its current menu.

The company’s Richmond store in London has been given a brand new sign to show the new name.

Measuring 12-foot and with 121 characters, the sign is actually longer than the shop front that Yo! occupies and encroaches onto neighbouring restaurant Tortilla, which worked with the brand in the engineering of the sign.

We hope our new name change will get people talking but most importantly, show just how extensive our food offering is

Customers who upload a video to social media of them successfully completing the tongue-twister on the new sign will be in for a chance to win a £50 voucher.

Luisa Fernandez, marketing director at Yo! Sushi, says: “After bringing fresh sushi to the UK for the first time 22 years ago, we want to show diners that we are consistently at the forefront of change, with our exciting and diverse menu.

“We hope our new name change will get people talking but most importantly, show just how extensive our food offering is and that there really is a dish for everyone at YO!SushiRamenKatsuStirfryCurry

It could prove to be a significant undertaking for the sign-makers tasked with changing the signs on all 73 of Yo!’s UK restaurants.
