The British government has launched its ‘Get Ready for Brexit’ campaign

Covering billboards, television adverts and social media, the campaign for getting the UK ready for Brexit is believed to be the largest advertising blitz since World War Two.

According to government research, 50% of the population think it’s likely the UK will leave the EU on October 31st, with 42% of small-to-medium sized businesses unsure of how they can ‘get ready’ and 31% of the public sought out information on how to prepare.

Analysts at investment bank Liberum have said that whilst all media publishers will benefit from this campaign, they expect 30% of the total budget to be allocated to TV and 10% to outdoor, with ITV and JCDecaux named as beneficiaries due to their dominant position in their sectors.

This campaign will encourage the country to come together to Get Ready for Brexit on 31 October

Chancellor of the Duchy of Lancaster, Michael Gove, comments: “Ensuring an orderly Brexit is not only a matter of national importance, but a shared responsibility. This campaign will encourage the country to come together to Get Ready for Brexit on 31 October.”

The campaign is targeting those most likely to be affected by Brexit – UK citizens intending to travel to Europe and exporters to the EU.

Alongside a campaign, the government has launched a new ‘checker tool’ on the Gov.uk website with how-to videos and step-by-step guides for business owners, hauliers or EU citizens residing in the UK.

As it currently stands, the UK is set to depart the EU on October 31st, with or without a withdrawal deal in place.
