The new printer, Wrights says, will allow for increased print productivity, quality and sustainability, as the company noted the green benefits of running a UV curing system, which runs 30% cooler thus using less energy.

“We are pleased to add the 6170 to our suite of printers,” says commercial director Andy Watkins. “Three times faster than anything else in the range, it is packed with lots of brilliant features but for our customers the benefits are simple – we can now print faster, more productively and to a higher quality, delivering near-photographic image quality and perfect text even for the small print.”

The firm, which produces retail displays, signage and point-of-sale, also highlighted that the printer allows Wrights to print on a much wider range of substrates.

“Another advantage for customers is the range of materials we can now print on,” Watkins continues. “The clever vacuum function on the printer holds rigid and flexible material firmly in place.

"As well as our usual plastic-based material we’ll be printing on MDF, ACB, textiles, board, glass – even concrete. In fact, I’d be happy for anyone to challenge us to print on almost any material.

“All those substrates mean we can now print everything from construction hoardings and billboards to fine art graphics.”

The West Bromwich firm has been driving an ongoing commitment to reducing the company’s impact on the environment.

Mid West Displays, which was acquired by Wrights in 2016, recently changed the way it prints its LED light pocket frames as part of a switch from using solvent inks to water-based inks that are less harmful to the environment.
