Bill Muir will officially become chief executive of EFI on October 15th

Gecht has held the top job at the company for over 19 years, but in July revealed his intention to step down.

Muir will assume the responsibilities as chief executive from October 15th, with Gecht to remain on the company’s board of directors.

“I am honoured and humbled to join the EFI team,” Muir says, adding: “I have developed a deep admiration for the culture of courageous innovation, technical leadership and customer care, and I look forward to leading our exceptional team as we work tirelessly to delight our customers and create shareholder value.”

Muir was most recently chief operating officer at Jabil, prior to which he also held a number of other senior leadership roles at the product solutions firm.

Bill is going to take EFI to the next level

This included a spell as chief executive of Global Manufacturing Services, which at the time operated as a division of Jabil. Muir also spent time as president of the Jabil Asia business.

Gecht baced Muir to succeed in his new role with EFI: “Bill is going to take EFI to the next level.

“At Jabil his experience and track record included scaling multi-billion dollar businesses, driving execution and setting the firm’s strategic direction.

“This background uniquely prepares him to be the next CEO of EFI.”
