Metamark steps up expansion

News has broken that Metamark has made two decisive steps in its expansion strategy with the acquisition of its major Irish distributor Trimwel, and the hiring of new talent to head up its Asia Pacific business development drive.

“The Trimwel acquisition solidifies Metamark’s position in a market that has many similarities with the UK. We’ve always supplied Trimwel with core products, but now we’re aligned like this, we can put marketing, development and other resources into the Irish market to further improve our service and expand the range of Metamark products we offer,” explains Paul French, Metamark’s chief executive officer.

Trimwel first opened its doors for business in the early 1980s when demand for quality self-adhesive products by sign and graphics producers began to accelerate markedly thanks to the introduction of computerised processes for sign production.

Nick Little, Trimwel’s managing director, comments on the acquisition: “It moves us and our customers, old and new, closer to one of the most respected sources of materials innovation in the industry and gives us access to a rapidly developing spectrum of products that will help Trimwel deliver an even better service to the sign and allied industries.”

Metamark is already a key brand in Trimwel’s self-adhesive graphics products portfolio. As applications for the products which Metamark manufactures grow, and the core industry and other markets expand, Metamark says it will introduce new products to the Irish market and beyond.

Trimwel will continue to trade behind its own brand and operate from its established headquarters in Dublin. Its customers will be supplied with the products they order from within Trimwel’s existing infrastructure.

Following the news of its acquisition, Metamark also announced the appointment of Paul Coniglio to the role of Asia Pacific Business development manager.

Coniglio brings to Metamark more than fifteen years materials industry experience, driving business growth in Australia and New Zealand and has strong technical and commercial credentials.

“I’ve worked with Metamark in the region now for a number of years. Its brand is known and strongly associated with great performance, reliability and trust. Its products cover a wide range of popular applications and those that are still just emerging. I’m really looking forward to continuing Metamark’s work in the region and developing its opportunity overall,” states Coniglio.
