Epson has highlighted a resurgence in interest in eco solvent-based inkjet technology, with companies favouring the likes of the Sure Color SC-S family of printers over latex.

At this year’s Sign and Digital UK, Epson will focus on this range, and its flagship ten colour large-format signage printer, the Sure Color SC-S80600. Epson will also showcase the SC-S60600 printer, the SC-P20000, and the latest dye sublimation printer, the SC-F9300, and the direct-to-garment SC-F2100.

AD Bell and Motion recently invested in the Sure Color SC-S80600 from Epson, and Phil McMullin, sales manager at Epson UK, says: “This year there has been a resurgence in interest in eco solvent-based inkjet technology. We have seen companies like AD Bell and Motion turn away from latex in favour of our Sure Color SC-S family of printers.”

McMullin continues: “We expect a very strong turnout for Sign and Digital as printers look at ways they can harness wide-format inkjet technology to create top quality work productivity. We make much of the fact that we manufacture our own print heads, ink, and equipment but it really is the key to maximising process control and optimising the quality of product.

“We are also finding the market pressing for technology that will allow them to offer a more diverse portfolio of products to their clients, a strategy that enhances and cements business relationships.”

Epson will also be exhibiting at this year’s FESPA and keeping with the event’s theme of fashion and textiles, the company will be showcasing the Epson Monna Lisa, the Sure Color SC-F9300 dye sublimation printer and the Sure Color DTG printer, much like Sign and Digital.

The Sure Color F9300 dye sublimation printer will fit in with FESPA’s main motif of textiles and fashion

Richard Barrow, senior product manager, production LFP, adds: “FESPA brings together equipment and substrate/textiles suppliers, making it a great research base for the most forward-thinking print-service-providers. Digital inkjet remains a fast-evolving business and both suppliers and printers continue to trial and challenge the technology to do more.

“There is a thirst from PSPs for diversification, a willingness to find ways of giving customers even more products that will communicate the brand or the corporate message. Broadening the range is a way of adding value to the services they provide to customers and cementing the partnership, leaving no hole for an alternative supplier to fill. At Epson we can provide advice and information to help them grow their business.”
