Seven times world snooker champion Steve Davis will host the 2018 British Sign Awards

“We are delighted that Steve has agreed to host this year’s awards, which once again will have Signfab UK in partnership with Current by GE as the main sponsor,” says David Catanach, director of the BSGA.

He continues: “Our other confirmed sponsors include Epson, Roland DG,  Blackburns Metals, Trade Etching Direct, and Wilson Access Services. Others are pending, but there are still a couple of awards categories available and if any other sign-related business wants to be involved in this unique event we’d be happy to talk to them.

“Having Steve Davis as the host gets this year’s awards off to an excellent start. He had a remarkable career in snooker, winning no less than 71 major titles and becoming the sport’s first millionaire.

“He continued to play at the highest levels right up to his retirement from the game in 2016 and is now a commentator on snooker and a regular quiz show guest as well as an extremely popular DJ known as Thundermuscle.”

The closing date for entries, which remain free and judged by neutral industry experts, will be in early September.

Catanach concludes: “We’re changing a couple of things this year to create more space for the reception and sponsors showcase.

“We will also be starting the event a little later this year, kicking off the reception at 1pm, instead of midday, which means we will finish at around 6.30pm, allowing guests to miss the worst of Leicester’s rush-hour.”
