Lucy Ratcliffe, director at Signmaster, says that although purchasing quality print kit should be high on the agenda, companies must also pay careful attention to the machinery used alongside this, as it will have a major impact on the look and feel of a final product.

“The importance of the supporting equipment to work alongside your printer can not be overstated; the printer is the starting point but expanding your portfolio and the products you can offer comes down to that of the additional equipment in your armoury,” Ratcliffe says.

Ratcliffe continues: “At Signmaster, we place as much thought and attention on this equipment as we do the main printers. We supply everything needed from laminators, plotters, sign making tools, and the flatbed applicator.”

With this, Ratcliffe draws attention to the Rollover, a machine manufactured in Norway and comes complete with a five-year warranty.

“The Rollover is the one product potentially overlooked the most; after all, it is easy to see the value of adding a laminator, you can charge your customer more for protected prints, while the plotter enables you to offer stickers of all different shapes and sizes,” Ratcliffe says.

She continues: “A flatbed applicator can’t officially make you money, can it? You can’t charge for its services, but what it does do is save you money—something harder to get your head around. The Rollover is a machine that is just wonderful. It is so easy to use and offers so much with regard to the speed of laminating, mounting to rigid materials and applying app tape.

“The time it can save a production team is remarkable; from using numerous staff to complete a job, you now only need one. Factor in reduced wastage and that it doubles up as not only an applicator, but with its LED illuminated bed and self-healing mat, it also becomes a workstation that you can trim and cut on.”

Ratcliffe goes on to say the proof is in the pudding with the Rollover, with many customers offering positive comments.
