The Longier Hunter RU3200 is a 3.2 UV LED roll-to-roll printer, and WAE Group has become the first firm to bring it to the UK

The Longier Hunter RU3200 is a 3.2m UV LED roll-to-roll printer, with Ricoh Gen 5 print heads. It also offers a high-resolution output at speeds of 80sqm/h with resolutions of up to 600 x 1,200dpi.

WAE Group is the first British company to install the Longier, and is a sign specialist based in Leeds. Paul Austin, WAE Group managing director, comments: “Out of all our machines, the Longier flatbed’s quality is the best we have; we use it when we need a really high-end finish. It offers a smooth print with no banding, it’s good on fine print and the coverage is nice.”

The new RU3200 was installed in the autumn, and the UV LED-curing technology reduces power consumption and any pollution that comes with mercury vapour lamps. QPS installed the new press with ease.

We’re delighted to bring the newest Longier Hunter model to the UK and have had positive feedback from its first user, WAE Group

Austin comments: “We’ve had minimal problems and those have been rectified very quickly—which is refreshing after experiencing long waits to sort things out from other service companies in the past.”

Chris Bailey, managing director of QPS, adds: “We’re delighted to bring the newest Longier Hunter model to the UK and have had positive feedback from its first user, WAE Group.

“Longier systems definitely rival those of bigger-name brands in their incredible printing quality and reliability. We expect to install several more in the New Year, each supported by our advice and engineering support.”
