Epson speaks the truth with Waite link-up

Epson has named world renowned landscape photographer Charlie Waite as its new UK photography ambassador as part of a wider effort to showcase how its digital print technology can be used across various photo-based projects.

Epson will publish regular ‘This is my truth’ updates from the photographers over the next 12 months

Waite will be one of five leading photographers to feature in ‘This is my truth’, an initiative that will offer an insight into the world of photography and how some of the most talented individuals in this sector go about their work. 

Each photographer will share what truth means to them in a series of interviews, insight and advice, which will be shared online, on social media and live at events across Europe. 

“The print is the photograph’s rightful inheritance and I believe if you make your own photograph you must make your own print,” Waite says.

He adds: “I never forget the first print that I printed on an Epson years ago. It was an epiphany moment and I was overwhelmed as it came out of the printer because it took me right back to the very happy state of mind I was in when I made it.

Waite will be joined by wedding specialist David Brenot (France); Marco Grob (Switzerland), who is known for his distinctive portraits; Isabel Munoz (Spain), who is fascinated by the human body; and wildlife expert Stefano Unterthiner (Italy).

Epson will reveal how its ambassadors achieve control over the integrity of their images—from capture to printed result—and the role Epson kit can play in this process. Each photographer will print their own images in their studios using Epson’s latest SureColor SC-P printers, which have been developed to meet the individual needs and requirements of the ambassadors.

Phil McMullin, sales manager for Pro Graphics at Epson UK, also says: “These photographers are united by their passion to capture and print stunning images and all have gained global recognition for their work.

“It’s very exciting that, for the first time, they have come together to give us access to their worlds and allow us to discover and share what drives them, their tools and techniques, and how they ensure their iconic images communicate truth without words.”
