The morning of December 8th 2016 may have been quite dull from a weather perspective, but this certainly was not the case at Sovereign House, Mansfield.

Your Embroidery Services has been in business for more than 20 years now and has grown from the study of managing director Roy Burton’s house to a purpose designed HQ.
In fact everything was bright and sharp for the grand opening of the new 17,000sq ft Your Embroidery Services (YES) headquarters.
The company has been in business for more than 20 years now and, in that time, has grown from the study of managing director Roy Burton’s house to a fantastic purpose designed HQ housing admin, sales, and support, as well as mechanical and electronic workshops.

The building had previously been used by the local college and required the whole of the inside of the building to be ripped out and started again from scratch. The whole premises now feels fresh and warm, with all the latest that technology has to offer in regards of lighting and security. The showroom is open and with plenty of room to look at and have demonstrated the full range that Y.E.S. has to offer.

Burton conducted the tour that took in every department, including the research and development area, where all the new technology is developed. It was amazing to see that a simple model consisting of a piece of wood with nails and string would become the new way that tensioning would be decided to ensure minimal movement of the reels in the Eclipse range. You could also see that all the staff were bristling with pride at the new premises.

The European arm of the business, Impression Technology Europe, which manufacturers the aforementioned Eclipse range of digital labelling machines, is now housed in the same premises, and visitors were able to see their construction from start to finish.

The machines are all assembled at Sovereign House and the largest in the range, the LF350 takes 60 hours of construction. The LF350 can produce 10,000 labels in as little as 100 minutes. As the name suggests it can take media up to 350mm wide and can produce a single label of 800mm long. The size of the LF350 means it can be installed in companies with a limited amount of space. The facility is available to add an extra Summa cutting head to double the speed.
At midday guests were then invited to the front of the building where Col. Tim S Richmond OBE, the Vice Lord Lieutenant of Nottinghamshire officially opened Sovereign House. After the opening, guests had a brief presentation where Burton gave us an outline of the history of YES from his study to Sovereign House. He also thanked his visitors to the open day including press, suppliers, and staff. A key highlight was when he presented his longest serving member of staff with a gift, Steve Gilbert, who started in November 1995.
