Agfa rolls out red carpet to grow market share

Showcasing its updated Leeds showroom, Agfa Graphics is putting on a Red Carpet Event, from 7th and 8th October, where a full range of demonstrations from software to inkjet printing will be on display.

The Jeti Mira had a great reaction from the market after Agfa Graphics’ previous Red Carpet Event in Belgium

“We’ve tried to make this an event which incorporates the customers as well, as there’s accommodation and an evening meal,” explains Steve Collins, Agfa UK's wide-format inkjet manager.

He adds: “Particularly for its position in Leeds, we wanted to make it comfortable for people to come from the South as well. It’s all about coming along, feeling at ease, asking questions, finding out as much as you can from the experts, and take away as much as possible.”

Some of Agfa’s solutions that will be showcased are the Anapurna UV printer series, Anapurna 2050i, Anapurna 3200i, Asanti workflow, and sign and display dedicated UV inks.

Collins says that the event was motivated by Agfa’s desire to reach out to companies and present to customers its newly updated space.

We thought it was a great opportunity to put an event together and to go out and see if we can find new potential

He says: “It was designed to stimulate activity with the showroom because we put it in this year and it’s been very successful from a point of view of individual demos. We thought it was a great opportunity to put an event together and to go out and see if we can find new potential.”

Collins explains that the event is not only ideal for companies looking at purchasing, but also for commercial printers who are taking their first step. With such a diverse range of solutions, Collins hopes visitors will take away with them the notion that Agfa is a one-stop-shop.

He says: “It’s really to show them not just the technology, but also different types of applications that are achievable with this technology.

“That’s what we want these guys to go away with—you come to Agfa, you can see the printer, the inks, we’ve got knowledge of the substrates, we’ve got the workflow, finance, and the finishing as well. It gives a nice feeling that you come to one company and we have all the solutions.”

After a great reaction from the market in response to its red carpet event at its headquarters in Belgium, where the Jeti Mira flatbed UV-inkjet printer drew in a lot of interest, Agfa hopes this event will secure its place in the UK market.
