The installation of the new Genesis-V cutting machine is the first in the UK

The firm, which is a full-service commercial printer, specialises in large-format printing, digital and litho printing, print finishing, graphic design, direct mail and fulfilment.

KEP Print Group invested in the machine in a bid to boost performance and as part of its ambitious plans to increase the output of its cardboard engineering and point-of-sale division.

The firm chose the 3.2m wide conveyorized version of the Genesis-V which was also supplied with two crease wheels, a drag knife and through cut tool. The installation also features sophisticated tool head technology with interchangeable dual driven and passive tools.

The versatility and speed of the machine – with its next-generation tooling options – means we maximise efficiency

A 30% reduction in weight means the cutting machine is capable of cutting speeds of 1200mm. Paired with a cutting accuracy of 0.1mm, this machine can quickly cut various substrates.

Commenting on the installation, Mark Plowman, managing director at KEP Print Group, says: “Genesis-V is ideal for our expanding cardboard engineering and point-of-sale division.

“The versatility and speed of the machine – with its next-generation tooling options – means we maximise efficiency, as we don’t have to stop production as we change from drag knife to creasing wheel.

“We also love the fact that Blackman & White’s machines are designed and built in the UK and its level of technical support is always excellent.”
