The company employed a team of highly-skilled craftsman in its large-format print finish department, but like so many in the industry, pressure from competitors in regards to job turnaround times has meant investing in digital technology. In this case an Esko Kongsberg X24 by CMYUK.

The new digital cutting table and conveyor belt provided the X24 will increase production and deal with the larger workload placed on Marshall Print. CMYUK installed the new Kongsberg X24, which features a sandwich steel table top, four vacuum sections and a work area of 1680 x 3200mm.

The i-cut Production Consoles looks at the incoming files and chooses the correct tool, correct table settings and cutting sequence for faster production.

The Sign Production Application Kit will make the process of producing signs from flexible, roll material and rigid sheets.

Customers such as Marshall Print are looking for simplified and streamlined processes that can be adapted as the business grows

Martin Marshall, managing director of Marshall Print, explains: “Our clients know us as the first port of call for everything print, display and signage.

“My team are involved in a whole range of different signage and print projects. We’ve got a constant stream of individual jobs to produce and every one of them must be excellent.”

A camera and software provides vision cutting, and the tools allow cutting of a wide range of materials.

Marshall also commented on CMYUK’s swift installation process, stating: “Installing the new Kongsberg X24 could have caused major disruption in a busy production schedule, but the CMYUK team set it up with the minimum of fuss.”

CMYUK’s managing director, Robin East, mirrored Marshall’s positivity. He says: “Customers such as Marshall Print are looking for simplified and streamlined processes that can be adapted as the business grows.

“The Esko Kongsberg solution provides just this – from the competitively-priced, entry-level X starter range with its upgrade path, through the X series, right up to the C series cutters.

“There’s a solution to meet every need and every budget, and in all cases increased productivity is the result.”
