The ceremony took place at the INNSiDE Hotel by Melia, Liverpool, on November 18th 2021 and was made to showcase the businesses of Liverpool City Region.

The international award, which was voted for partly by the public, and partly by an expert panel saw Wild Thang nominated amongst companies such as CNC Robotics, and Marine Specialised Technology Group.

Speaking about the award, The Liverpool Chamber of Commerce states: “The Chamber is delighted to have recognised the achievements of Wild Thang at our Innovation in Business Awards. Our independent judging panel highlighted the company's success in international business development alongside its broader response to the pandemic.”

After a difficult two years due to the challenges of the pandemic the award highlights the company’s commitment to retaining staff and continuing to grow.

It was a fantastic evening and to win the international award was super special. I clearly remember when the pandemic hit, and sales fell off a cliff for many areas of our business.

Wild Thang also recently highlighted the difficulties they have faced in regards to Brexit and the pandemic in a recent video with the Liverpool Chamber of Commerce.

Managing director for Wild Thang, Andrew Dwerryhouse, says: “It was a fantastic evening and to win the international award was super special. I clearly remember when the pandemic hit, and sales fell off a cliff for many areas of our business.

“We were determined as a team that we would not be defined as a company by our incomplete development, Covid or Brexit so we adapted quickly to ensure we could not only survive, but also thrive as a team and company. This is an incredibly special moment because it is recognition at the highest level in the Liverpool city region."

Andrew and Chris Dwerryhouse thanked all that voted, but also their team, who they said made the award possible.

The company hopes to grow turnover and exports by 20-25% in 2022 through its wide range of products such as branded clothing, large-format prints, and creative designs and services.
