More shoes in the US are having to postpone due to the virus outbreak

The International Sign Association (ISA) Sign Expo and Digital Signage Expo (DSE) have both postponed their events to later in the year.

As the total number of people confirmed to have the virus reaches over 1,000 in the US, president Donald Trump has implemented a travel ban. This affects 26 European countries and means most travel from Europe to the US is prohibited for one month.

ISA Sign Expo describes itself as a platform for the sign, graphics and visual communication industry to gather and conduct business and has been running for over 70 years.

In a statement, organisers express how they had been contacted by the industry who shared their concerns.

This was not an easy decision to make, but the escalation of travel bans, and coronavirus cases dictates this action”

The statement says: “Given the latest developments with COVID-19, the ISA Board and staff were not confident we could deliver the exceptional experience the industry deserve.”

Due to take place in April, the exhibition will now be running from August 23rd-25th at the same location of the Orange County Convention Center, in Orlando.

Despite announcing just last week that it would still go ahead, Digital Signage Expo has also taken the decision to postpone its 2020 event.

Due to take place from March 31st-April 3rd, the show will be rescheduled for late summer or early autumn.
Exponation chief executive officer, Angelo Varrone, comments: “This was not an easy decision to make, but the escalation of travel bans, and coronavirus cases dictates this action.

"We are working with the Las Vegas Convention Center to secure new dates for DSE 2020 and will be making that announcement in the near future.”
