BSA, BSGA and BGT come together

The British Signs Awards celebrates sign-makers and firms all over the country, ever year. The event, which will take place in Leicester in November, will award 15 winners overall, including ‘Sign of the Year’, which will be presented by sponsors Signfab UK with Current powered by GE.

The pair could turn up as Francine and Darren, or as Hollywood celebrities

To mark the occasion, the BSGA director, David Catanach, has announced that two of television’s famous faces will be presenting the awards. Francine Lewis and Darren Altman, who made the nation smile with their impressions act will be the hosts for the evening.

The pair are best known for their stint on Britain’s Got Talent, and after enjoying success on the show, have gone on to have successful tours and careers. The BSGA have brought them together to celebrate the achievements made in the sign industry. Whilst Lewis went on to appear in Loose Women, This Morning and Good Morning Britain, Altman has also gone on to work on tv adverts, documentaries and cartoons.

We’ve managed to bring them together for the awards event and it’s going to be very different and a lot of fun

Catanach comments: “We’ve managed to bring them together for the awards event and it’s going to be very different and a lot of fun. The essence of the awards is, of course, very serious, but we want everybody who attends to have a great time and go home happy. The unusual hosting, allied to our new venue in Leicester, should ensure a memorable event for all.”

The event was introduced four years ago, and whilst it may seem that winning is the only gain from the awards, this is wrong. Achieving a win or even a nomination can be beneficial to a firm, as it shows the customers that they have been highly recommended in the industry.
