100% recyclable, planet-friendly fleet branding

OPG, a fleet graphics provider based in Lanarkshire, Scotland is now providing PVC-free fleet branding that is 100% recyclable thanks to its use of Metamark materials.

The Metamark products used by OPG to produce fleet branding are recovered, baled, palletised, and collected by Metamark to be processed through MetaStream

Metamark offers a MetaStream programme which enables production waste and printed and applied graphics to be recycled and turned into articles that can be recycled again time and time again.

MetaStream enables OPG to recover and stream the livery graphics it produces for recycling, keeping them out of landfill and incineration waste streams.

PVC and liner waste produced during the graphics manufacturing process, during installation, or at end-of-life recovery, is recovered and baled, palletised and collected by Metamark to be processed through MetaStream.

Providing an added benefit is the fact that the Metamark materials OPG uses are compatible with HP Latex inks which are water-based, non-hazardous and safe for disposal.

Having used HP Latex ink technology for some time, OPG – which holds ISO 14001:2015 accreditation – says this has helped it to enhance a long-standing reputation for environmental management.

OPG’s portfolio of HP Latex kit includes a HP Latex 3200 printer and the recently added HP Latex 800W printer.

Due to OPG holding additional certified management systems such as ISO 9001:2015 for Quality and ISO 45001:2018 for Occupational Health and Safety, the company can easily identify which fleet graphics qualify for MetaStream.
